Job summary

Cavendish (Recruitment) Professionals Ltd are recruiting a Setting Out Engineer to join a respected UK Groundworks, RC Frame & Civil Engineering contractor on a project in Loughborough. You will set out for foundations and external works, maintain control points, produce as-built surveys, interpret drawings and support QA/QC through accurate documentation.

The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and proficiency with Leica/Trimble equipment and AutoCAD; SMSTS/SSSTS desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as Setting Out Engineer for Groundworks, RC Frame or Civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, external works and RC structures.
• Proficient with Leica or Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Understanding QA procedures and as-built surveys.

• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and infrastructure.

• Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
• Assisting with site planning and problem solving.
• Promoting high health and safety standards on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and associated infrastructure.
• Establishing and maintaining site control points and survey data.
• Producing and maintaining accurate as-built surveys and records.
• Interpreting and checking engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out QA/QC inspections and completing quality documentation.
• Raising and managing RFIs where required.
• Monitoring tolerances and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
• Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
• Assisting with site planning and engineering problem solving.
• Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety on site.

Criteria:

• Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer for a Groundworks, RC Frame or Civil Engineering contractor.
• Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, external works and reinforced concrete structures.
• Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation.
• SMSTS or SSSTS (Desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Duration: 1 year

Hours: 10 hour shifts (Monday – Friday)
