Job summary

Cavendish Recruitment Professionals Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join a respected UK groundworks, RC frame and civil engineering contractor. You will be responsible for setting out, maintaining survey data and liaising with site teams on a major project in Cambridge.

The role requires experience with groundworks, foundations and RC structures; proficiency in Leica/Trimble equipment and AutoCAD; CSCS card is essential and driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Setting Out Engineer for Groundworks/RC Frame or Civil works.
• Foundations, drainage, external works and reinforced concrete knowledge.
• Competence with Leica/Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and reading technical drawings.
• QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation knowledge.
• CSCS Card is essential; driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and infrastructure.
• Maintain site control points and survey data accuracy.
• Produce and maintain as-built surveys and records.
• Interpret and check engineering drawings and specs.
• Carry out QA/QC inspections and quality documentation.
• Raise and manage RFIs as needed.
• Monitor tolerances and ensure works meet specs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
• Assist with site planning and problem solving.
• Promote high health and safety standards on site.

We are recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer to join a respected UK Groundworks, RC Frame & civil engineering contractor, working on an project in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and associated infrastructure.
• Establishing and maintaining site control points and survey data.
• Producing and maintaining accurate as-built surveys and records.
• Interpreting and checking engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out QA/QC inspections and completing quality documentation.
• Raising and managing RFIs where required.
• Monitoring tolerances and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
• Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
• Assisting with site planning and engineering problem solving.
• Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety on site.

Criteria:

• Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer for a Groundworks, RC Frame or Civil Engineering contractor.
• Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, external works and reinforced concrete structures.
• Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
• Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation.
• CSCS Card (Essential).
• SMSTS or SSSTS (Desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Pay: £280 - 330 per day (depending upon experience)
Duration: 1 year
Hours: 10 hour shifts (Monday - Friday)
