Job summary

SCS Railways in London is seeking a Site Engineer to join the Victoria Road Ancillary Shaft project. You will coordinate daily site activities, liaise with engineers and subcontractors, and ensure safety, QA, and compliance across the works.

The role requires a degree in civil/environmental engineering and strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, document control). Working hours include weekdays with occasional weekend/night shifts during possessions.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in civil / environmental engineering.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel; document control experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day site activities to meet project timelines.
  • Ensure permits, risk assessments, ITPs, and quality records are in place.
  • Liaise with Section Engineer, subcontractors and self-delivery teams on safety and methods.
  • Maintain daily site diary and manage non-conformances.

Job description

  • Site Engineer Role based at Victoria Road in North Acton, West London.
  • Preparing and attending the Start of Shift Brieifng
  • Setting up work sites with GF/ Works Manager
  • Working with the subcontractors and self delivery teams to ensure the timely preparation Risk Assessment Method Statements, Task Briefing Sheets, Inspection and Test Plans, Permits, Materials Compliance Records etc for the works and that these are implemented.
  • Day to day work site coordination and planning to ensure the works are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Writing and issuing the daily site diary
  • Ensuring Permits, Temporary Works and other safey systems are implemented
  • Liaison with the Section Foreman to ensure the adherence to safe methods of work.
  • Ensuring all temporary works needs are identified sufficiently early and completed in accordance with the relevant procedures.
  • Ensuring all quality checks are carried out in accordance with the ITP’s and properly recorded.
  • The management of non-conformance reporting and managing the nonconformances on site until complete.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree or equivalent in civil / Environmental engineering or similar
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system)
