Job summary

Unite People is seeking a Freelance Site Engineer for a major commercial construction project in Didcot. You will support the site team through the construction programme, delivering setting out, QA, and as-built documentation on a long-term contract.

Immediate start available for a well-qualified professional with main contractor experience. The role requires competent use of Leica or Trimble surveying equipment, accuracy in measurements, and a strong reading of drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on commercial building projects.
• Experience working for a main contractor is essential.
• Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• CSCS Card.
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out works using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
• Carrying out surveying and site measurements to ensure works are delivered accurately.
• Managing QA documentation, inspection records and associated paperwork.
• Producing and maintaining accurate as-built information.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and design teams to resolve technical queries.
• Monitoring quality standards and ensuring compliance throughout construction.
• Assisting with the coordination and sequencing of daily site activities.
• Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of the project.

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a major commercial construction project in Didcot. Working for a well-established main contractor, you'll play a key role in the delivery of a large-scale commercial development, supporting the site team throughout the construction programme.
