Site Engineer - HS2 Chipping Warden (Structures & Earthworks)

Are you an experienced freelance Site Engineer looking for your next challenge on a nationally significant infrastructure project? Do you have a strong background in both structures and earthworks? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Site Engineer to join our dynamic team on the HS2 project in Chipping Warden. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most ambitious engineering undertakings.

About the Role:

Based at our Chipping Warden site, you will be instrumental in the delivery of key structural and earthworks packages for HS2. Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting out and surveying for structural and earthworks elements.
• Ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and designs.
• Managing and supervising site activities, ensuring adherence to programme and budget.
• Liaising with the design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
• Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
• Promoting a strong health and safety culture.

About You:

The successful candidate will possess:

• A degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer, with a demonstrable track record in both structures (e.g., bridges, viaducts, retaining walls) and earthworks (e.g., cuttings, embankments, drainage).
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects; HS2 experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in setting out techniques and using surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive and methodical approach to work.
• CSCS card and relevant site safety qualifications.
