Site Engineer - HS2 Chipping Warden (Structures & Earthworks)

Are you an experienced freelance Site Engineer looking for your next challenge on a nationally significant infrastructure project? Do you have a strong background in both structures and earthworks? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Site Engineer to join our dynamic team on the HS2 project in Chipping Warden. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most ambitious engineering undertakings.

About the Role:

Based at the Chipping Warden site, you will be instrumental in the delivery of key structural and earthworks packages for HS2. Your responsibilities will include:

Setting out and surveying for structural and earthworks elements.
Ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
Interpreting engineering drawings and designs.
Managing and supervising site activities, ensuring adherence to programme and budget.
Liaising with the design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
Promoting a strong health and safety culture.About You:

The successful candidate will possess:

A degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Site Engineer, with a demonstrable track record in both structures (e.g., bridges, viaducts, retaining walls) and earthworks (e.g., cuttings, embankments, drainage).
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects; HS2 experience is highly desirable.
Proficiency in setting out techniques and using surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS).
Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
A proactive and methodical approach to work.
