Job summary

Parker Jones Group Ltd is seeking a Site Engineer for housing developments around Cardiff and Swansea. You will set out detailed works from contract drawings, check plans, drawings and quantities, and ensure quality control per client specs.

You will support the Project Manager and installation teams to deliver defect-free handovers. Candidates should have proven setting-out experience on civil engineering projects, a CSCS card, and strong communication and teamwork skills to operate safely on

Qualifications

• Experience setting out on civil engineering projects.
• Knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety and regulations.
• CSCS card required.
• Excellent communication and ability to liaise with site team and clients.
• Ability to work well in a team and troubleshoot on site.
• Proven track record on housing projects.
• Ability to check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy.

The Job

My client is a small groundworks/civils subcontractor who is looking for a Site Engineer due to continued expansion as a business. You will be working on housing developments based around Cardiff and Swansea.

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis


• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy


• Ensuring that quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with Client specification


• Providing engineering support to ensure any technical problems are overcome


• Conducting pre-start site surveys


• Ensuring a timely handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects, working closely with the Project Manager and installation teams


• Operating and promoting a high standard of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance


• Site calibration checks


• Assisting in resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise

To be successful in this position, the Site Engineer must have:

• Have previously worked on housing projects


• Have a proven track record of setting out on civil engineering projects


• Possess a sound knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety and legal regulations


• A valid CSCS card


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with site-based team and Clients


• The ability to work effectively as part of a team


• Proven troubleshooting skills
