Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering highways, road widening, earthworks or civil projects.
• Setting out experience using Total Stations and GPS.
• Site management experience on civil projects.
• CSCS Card essential.
• SMSTS preferred (essential for Site Manager).
• First Aid at Work desirable.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors and direct labour.
• Ensure works are completed in line with programme, specifications and quality standards.

• Liaise with the client, engineers and project management team.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues.

We’re looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Site Manager to join a major road widening and highways improvement scheme in the heart of Bath. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile infrastructure project for a well-established civil engineering contractor.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring the works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Depending on your background, the role will suit either a hands‑on Site Engineer ready to take on more responsibility or an experienced Site Manager with a strong engineering understanding.
