Job summary

Salter Grange Limited is recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major data centre construction project in Blyth, Northumberland. You will support engineering delivery, ensuring works are set out accurately, coordinated and delivered to drawings and programme.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering qualification, strong setting-out experience and familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM and surveying equipment.

Qualifications

• A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
• Proven site engineer on major construction projects.
• Strong setting-out experience.
• Experience using surveying equipment.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience working with BIM environments would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Data centre or mission-critical project experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works on site.
• Checking drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Supporting delivery team with engineering and technical queries.
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
• Liaising with subcontractors, design teams and the wider project team.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and engineering documentation.
• Assisting with coordination of civil, structural and MEP interfaces.
• Monitoring progress and identifying technical issues before they impact programme.
• Supporting the resolution of RFIs and technical queries.
• Working closely with project management and construction teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major data centre construction project in Blyth, Northumberland, working with a highly established main contractor specialising in technically complex construction and mission-critical environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a major project within the rapidly expanding UK data centre sector, working as part of a professional and technically strong project team.

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering delivery of the project, ensuring works are accurately set out, technically coordinated and delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting out and surveying works on site

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Civil Engineer with a strong background in construction.

Ideally, you will have:

• A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major construction projects
• Strong setting-out experience
• Experience using surveying equipment
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working with BIM environments would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary site team
• Data centre or other mission-critical experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates from major commercial, industrial, infrastructure or similarly complex construction projects will also be considered.

The business has developed significant specialist expertise in the data centre sector, delivering technically complex facilities involving major civil, structural, mechanical and electrical packages and high levels of coordination and commissioning.
