The Opportunity

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions through innovative thinking and collaboration.

Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overall direction and leadership of activities related to the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will lead/manage a team of Senior Project Managers and Managers, ensuring the delivery of Earthworks, Enabling works (including UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. The role involves managing a matrix team including the nuclear new build supply chain, quality team, and suppliers.

This role will assist the Site Delivery Lead in developing strategies to deliver scope within cost, schedule, and quality parameters. You will also oversee operational delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in line with the overall project schedule.

Key responsibilities will be:
  • Defining work scope and interfaces within contracts or work packages
  • Securing resources in collaboration with the Site Delivery Lead, maintaining SQEP, and addressing personnel issues
  • Providing strategic direction for effective execution aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP)
  • Maintaining stakeholder communication and executing project strategies
  • Driving contract or package activity delivery safely, on time, within budget, and to technical standards
  • Monitoring progress, tracking milestones, and reporting to the leadership team
  • Identifying risks, resolving issues, and updating project plans and budgets
  • Maintaining scope schedule consistency and escalating discrepancies
  • Ensuring delivery of the List of Deliverables (LOD)
  • Applying Continuous Improvement principles and capturing lessons learned
  • Collaborating with other programmes for best practice sharing
  • Fulfilling contractual requirements and maintaining effective relationships

Qualifications

  • Proven success in delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably Nuclear Energy
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • Strong management skills including project, financial, change management, and facilitation
  • Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools
  • Experience managing contractors and advisors on large projects, familiar with NEC and FIDIC contracts
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and organizational skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience
  • Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Experience with Project Management methodologies such as APM and Prince2
  • Experience managing projects from concept to handover
