Job summary

WOOD GROUP is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering capital projects at a client site in Barnard Castle, either staff or contract (inside IR35). The role is site-based and will work within a multi‑discipline team comprising Wood and client engineers, external designers, vendors and skilled contractors.

Responsibilities include delivering projects from concept to completion, coordinating with the client, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering experience required.
• Experience delivering capital projects in a pharmaceutical or life science setting preferred.
• Ability to lead multi‑discipline teams and coordinate interfaces across EPC activities.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (GxP/ALCOA familiarity).
• Proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Deliver capital projects from concept through to completion with the client.
• Work with Wood and client engineers, designers, vendors and contractors.
• Maintain safety and environmental standards throughout design and delivery.
• Coordinate interfaces across engineering disciplines to ensure successful handover.
