Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor/Engineer to support a long-term EPCm framework at a pharmaceutical facility in Ware, Hertfordshire. This site-based role requires safeguarding delivery across civil, structural, architectural and discipline scopes while coordinating contractors on a live manufacturing site.

You will drive construction progress, manage work packs, monitor progress against schedules and ensure CDM compliance, safety and commissioning readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering construction projects in highly regulated industrial environments.
• Strong contractor management and site supervision capabilities.
• Experience leading construction activities safely within live facilities.
• Understanding of construction execution, planning and coordination.
• Ability to monitor progress and manage priorities against schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise construction activities on site.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient execution.
• Develop and execute Construction Work Packs (CWPs).
• Monitor progress and report against project schedules and milestones.
• Identify delivery risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure CDM compliance and alignment with client requirements.
• Drive safety culture through inspections and toolbox talks.
• Support Permit-to-Work and Safe Systems of Work processes.
• Coordinate installation, construction, completions and commissioning.
• Participate in Constructability and Readiness reviews and HAZCON studies.
• Manage costs, variations and change activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise delivery.

Education

ONC/HNC in Engineering or Construction

NVQ Level 6 Construction Management or equivalent

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate

Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification

SMSTS or SSSTS

CSCS Card
