Job summary

Zeelandia Ltd in Wigan is seeking a multiskilled engineer to maintain and improve our manufacturing operations. The role requires hands-on fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems, with responsibility for preventative maintenance and timely repair of equipment.

You will work across rotating shifts, ensuring safety and food hygiene standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and site projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as a multi-skilled engineer in manufacturing.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to work rotating shift patterns.
• Knowledge of food safety and health & safety standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to equipment breakdowns to maximise production uptime.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery, utilities and site services.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, performance, safety and efficiency.
• Support engineering projects and equipment installations as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate engineering issues across the business.
• Promote a culture of safe working and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
