Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative to support a residential apartment building in Sheffield city centre. You will handle a range of general maintenance tasks and ensure a safe, well-presented living environment for residents.

With experience in handyman roles, you will work across plumbing, decorating and joinery, supporting reactive and preventive maintenance while maintaining records and health and safety compliance. Tools are provided for this temporary position.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, handyman, or trade-based role.
• Practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
• Strong ownership and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests through internal reporting systems.
• Carry out general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, decorating, and joinery repairs.
• Assist with reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Conduct routine inspections of bedrooms, communal areas, and building facilities.
• Identify and rectify maintenance defects while addressing health and safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance checks.
• Provide a professional, friendly, and customer-focused service to residents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contractors to ensure works are completed efficiently.
