Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc in Royston is seeking a Facilities Technician for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will manage general civils repairs, small plumbing and carpentry tasks, and minor groundworks while coordinating with internal stakeholders.

You will prioritise work orders, apply RAMS and safe systems of work, and influence spending decisions through repair versus replacement recommendations. This role is site-based and offers hybrid flexibility where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic building fabric and groundworks.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with permitting systems and RAMS/safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and manage general building civils repairs and related tasks.
• Complete minor groundworks related to site infrastructure (roads, drains).
• Liaise with department managers, safety personnel, admin staff and maintenance team.
• Apply independent judgment in routine maintenance, prioritise work orders and respond to urgent repairs.
• Influence spend through recommendations on repairs vs replacements and supplier sourcing.
