Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician for a site-based role in Royston. You will maintain building infrastructure, oversee repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections across HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general upkeep to support daily operations.

The role emphasises independent judgment in routine tasks, coordination with stakeholders, and contributing to workplace safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance and minor civil works.
• Familiarity with RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and manage general building civils repairs and general facilities-based tasks such as small plumbing, carpentry and minor buildings and roof works.
• Complete minor groundworks relating to site infrastructure such as roadways, drains etc.
• Liaise with a broad range of internal stakeholders including department managers, health and safety personnel, administrative staff, and other maintenance team members.
• Respond to urgent repair needs with independent judgment in routine maintenance tasks and prioritise work orders.
• Influence spend through recommendations on repairs vs. replacement, supplier sourcing, and energy-saving initiatives.
