Job summary

Sherwoods is seeking two Site-Based Electricians to maintain two university campuses in the Falmouth area. You will own the electrical presence on site, performing PPM and reactive repairs, and working mostly independently with support from the Sherwoods engineering team.

You will estimate scopes, keep customers updated, and document work in our systems, while following safety policies and contributing to compliance audits. A strong safety mindset and customer-focused communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment).
• 18th Edition and AM2.
• Experience in a commercial or maintenance environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and confidence with people at all levels.
• Proactive approach to problem solving; ability to compile specifications and workflows.
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive electrical repairs across the campus, right first time and within customer SLAs.
• Estimate works with full scope and materials list before submission to customer.
• Keep the customer updated at the start, during and end of each job.
• Record completed works and follow-ups on our job management system and portals.
• Support compliance audits and ensure timely completion.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to order materials and arrange visits.
• Work safely, following health and safety policies and RAMs.
• Look after allocated work vehicle, where applicable.

Want an electrical role where you can own your patch, see the results of your work and be part of a team that backs you? We're looking for two Site-Based Electricians to keep two busy university campuses in the Falmouth area safe, compliant and running smoothly. You'll be our electrical presence on site, mostly working independently, with a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs. You'll build good working relationships with the campus facilities team, and you'll have Sherwoods' wider engineering team behind you.

What We Offer

• A salary of £35,000 - £42,000, depending on experience and qualifications
• A regular working pattern: 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

About The Job

What you’ll need

• Strong technical knowledge and a genuine enjoyment of passing on your experience

• City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
• Project management experience
