Job summary

SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL is seeking a hands-on Site Assistant to help keep our school safe, secure and welcoming for over 480 children. You’ll be involved in maintenance, events and everyday site care behind the scenes.

This role offers varied days, a friendly team, and real impact on pupils’ experiences. It also provides professional development, wellbeing support, and opportunities to progress within The Marches Academy Trust.

• Practical maintenance or DIY skills are essential.
• A positive, can-do attitude and reliability.
• Team player who supports others and follows directions.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and site maintenance to keep the school safe and functional.
• Support school events and educational visits as needed.
• Perform security checks and contribute to a secure site.
• Assist with maintenance tasks to ensure timetabled activities run smoothly.

The Role

From carrying out repairs and site maintenance to supporting school events, security checks and helping with educational visits, you'll play a vital role behind the scenes that keeps our school running smoothly.

Whether you're fixing a fence, setting up for a school celebration or ensuring our site is safe and secure, your contribution will have a direct impact on children's daily experiences.

£13.26 to £13.47 per hour (salary negotiable depending on experience)

32 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks
