Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting a Site Agent for a large carbon capture project in the North East. You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and ensure safety, quality and programme compliance on a major utilities and concrete works package.

Responsibilities include planning, risk management, resource control and cost discipline, with NEC contracts experience preferred. This contract role offers long-term security on a nationally significant net-zero infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering major civil or infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in utilities, heavy civils and reinforced concrete structures.
• Experience managing construction teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent understanding of NEC contracts.
• Knowledge of QA, ITPs and project controls.
• Ability to manage programmes, resources and budgets.

• Managing day-to-day construction activities across utilities and reinforced concrete work packages
• Leading engineers, foremen and subcontractors on site
• Delivering works safely, on programme and within budget
• Producing and implementing short-term programmes and work plans
• Reviewing and approving RAMS, permits and construction methodologies
• Managing quality processes, ITPs and handover documentation
• Monitoring progress and reporting against programme targets
• Coordinating design, engineering and construction interfaces
• Managing labour, plant and material resources
• Supporting commercial reporting, change management and cost control
• Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
• Driving a positive health, safety and environmental culture across the project

Site Agent - Carbon Capture Project – North East – Contract (Inside IR35)

A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to play a key role on one of the UK's largest and most significant Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects. This landmark infrastructure scheme involves the delivery of major utilities diversions, underground services, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks and heavy civil engineering works supporting a multi-billion-pound carbon capture facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent looking to advance their career on a nationally important net-zero project.

The Role

As Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of a section of works, managing engineering, commercial and operational activities from planning through to completion. You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, ensure programme milestones are achieved and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.

Project Scope

• Mechanical and electrical infrastructure interfaces
• Carbon capture and energy facility construction

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Agent delivering major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong background in utilities, heavy civils and reinforced concrete structures
• Experience managing construction teams and subcontractors
• Excellent understanding of NEC contracts
• Knowledge of quality assurance, ITPs and project controls
• Ability to manage programmes, resources and budgets effectively
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
