Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Ltd is recruiting an experienced Site Agent for an engineering and infrastructure contractor. The role is site based and will cover sites across Manchester, Derbyshire and Lancashire.

Reporting to the Head of Construction, you will manage the design, construction, commissioning and handover of contracts to ensure completion on time, within the tender estimate, and to the required specifications while maintaining health and safety for all involved and ensuring client

Qualifications

  • Project Management experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline.
  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
  • Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Experience in project delivery.
  • Strategic, operational, technical and management skills.
  • Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with ability to negotiate and administer.
  • Ability to present at MWHT Governance Reviews in a leading capacity.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety

Responsibilities

  • Manage design, construction, commissioning and handover of contracts to ensure on time delivery and to spec.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards across direct and subcontracted work forces.
  • Maintain client relationships and project communications at all levels.
  • Monitor and control project delivery planning and execution.
  • Ensure records per Project Execution Plan are complete at contract completion.
  • Identify non-conformities and estimate corrective costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  • Participate in external networking/conferences/associations/groups for ongoing development.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM and health & safety requirements.
  • Present project status in governance reviews and update stakeholders.

Job description

Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor for an experienced Site Agent to join their Construction and Project delivery teams, to be assigned to a project or section within their programme of work.

The role will be site based and will be covering various sites and projects across Manchester, Derbyshire and Lancashire.

Reporting to the Head of Construction / Operations Manager, your role as Site Agent will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning and putting to work of contracts to ensure they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities In The Role Of Site Agent
  • Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance.
  • Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force.
  • Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e from tender handover to final completion.
  • Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
  • Maintain the company’s reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  • Ensuring that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
  • Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects
  • Ensuring that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities.
  • Ensuring at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available.
  • Ensuring that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.
  • Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates.
  • Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/ associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction.
  • Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.
About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Chartered with and engineering, commercial, or construction institution
  • NEC Project Manager Accreditation
