Job summary

Search Consultancy is seeking an experienced Gateman / Traffic Marshal to manage site access and traffic at a live construction project in Morpeth. You will control entry, log visitors and deliveries, and coordinate with drivers to keep the site safe and moving.

The role is a 1-month contract with weekly pay via PAYE/UMB, CSCS and CPCS/NPORS are required, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is mandatory.
• CPCS or NPORS (Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Slinger / Banking) is mandatory.
• Full standard 5-point PPE (Hard Hat, High-Vis Vest/Jacket, Safety Boots, Gloves, Safety Glasses).
• Proven track record as a Gateman or Traffic Marshal on live busy construction or civil sites.
• Excellent communication, punctual, assertive, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Access Control: Manage the main site entrance and log visitors, deliveries, vehicles, and personnel.
• Traffic Management: Safely bank delivery vehicles, wagons, and plant machinery on and off site.
• Public & Safety Interface: Ensure pedestrian safety near the site perimeter and maintain clear access corridors.
• Site Delivery Logistics: Coordinate drop-offs with site management and drivers to prevent traffic buildup.
• Security & Welfare: Assist perimeter security checks and keep the gatehouse tidy.
