As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Feed Manufacturing across Avara Foods. We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering Team, based at our Feed Mill in Allensmore, Hereford.

This position is ideally suited to someone with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering and preferably IEE 17th or 18th Edition.

Hours Of Work

Rotating shifts: Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Weds (Thurs, Fri off), Sat, Sun (6am-6pm); Week 2 - Mon, Tues, Weds off, Thurs, Fri (Sat, Sun off, 6am-6pm); Week 3 - same as Week 1; Week 4 - same as Week 2; Week 5 - Mon, Tues, Weds (Thurs, Fri off), Sat, Sun (6pm-6am); Week 6 - same as Week 2. Average of 42 hours/week.

Purpose Of The Role

As a Multi Skilled Engineer at our animal feed mill, your primary responsibilities include optimizing machinery output and quality, minimizing downtime through preventative maintenance, and maintaining a safe environment.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and identifying root causes
• Communicating with management and operations to minimize disruptions
• Recording parts usage and maintenance activities
• Ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards
• Participating in mechanical and electrical projects
• Maintaining environmental and safety systems

What We Are Looking For

• Relevant engineering apprenticeship
• Proactive safety attitude
• Good diagnostic skills
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
• Team player with flexibility
• Desirable: food manufacturing experience, PLC, pneumatic/hydraulic skills, BOAS certification
