Job summary

Cirrus Selection Limited is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to develop radar and EO/IR sensor simulations from Stevenage. The role combines building new simulation tools with improving existing lines, in a hybrid work setting with 2–4 days on site.

You will contribute to 3D rendering and scene generation, test in software and hardware-in-the-loop environments, and collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and options. A physics- or engineering-focused background is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on development in Python, or MATLAB and Simulink.
• A degree in Physics, Engineering, Maths or similar, or equivalent professional experience.
• Good engineering habits: unit and system testing, Git, CI/CD, code maintainability.
• Domain knowledge in Radar and RF sensing or EO/IR sensing and imaging.

Responsibilities

• Build simulation software for radar, RF and EO/IR sensors, sometimes from scratch, or to improve existing product lines.
• Work on 3D rendering and scene generation tools modelling how sensors perceive targets, terrain and atmosphere.
• Plug simulations into software-based and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
• Collaborate with programme stakeholders to pin down requirements, risks and technical options.
• Engage in research, including AI and new modelling techniques, to guide future simulation capability.
