Join a department that has advanced the use of distributed simulation in weapon system design and development!

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and passionate Technical Project Lead / Engineering Manager to join our Weapons Systems Simulation and Experimentation team.

Job Title: Simulation Project Lead

Salary: circa £65,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Stevenage or Bristol (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 3 days per week on-site, due to workload classification.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The team integrates real products, models, and synthetic environments to provide visualization, demonstrations, verification & validation, as well as training capability and support.

The successful candidate will use an agile methodology to lead the delivery and development of simulation components for MBDA's weapons systems.

You will guide a team of engineers, leveraging the advancement and exploitation of synthetic environments as a key enabler for systems exploration and development. We use IEEE standards and military standards to exploit a number of environments and visualization tools to deliver:

1. Demonstrators (SE representations of weapon systems)
2. System Simulators (Operator in the Loop environments)
3. Emulators (early representations of systems to support integration and proving)
4. Training Simulators (User and Maintenance)
5. Experimentation (Performance in context, system of systems)

What we're looking for from you:

We are looking for passionate project leads to head up all elements of a technical program, supporting MBDA in developing the latest weapon systems.

You will be responsible for a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions while utilizing the latest technologies to support MBDA across the whole project lifecycle, using software and hardware to represent/simulate MBDA weapon systems.

We seek individuals who can deliver complex solutions while balancing technical benefits, business costs, and operational constraints.

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate:

• A proven record of accomplishment delivering software and/or hardware solutions.
• Project definition and management using agile principles (planning, milestones, critical path).
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Stakeholder influence and management.
• Team leadership/people management.
• The ability to manage requirements and change management.
• A proactive approach to managing and mitigating risks.
