Job summary

Eaton Mission Systems Division in Wimborne, Dorset, is seeking a Performance Engineer to join the Simulation, Modelling & Performance team. You will model products across the lifecycle and perform real-time, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop simulations for air-to-air refuelling systems.

A degree in engineering or physics is required; 0–5 years’ experience; strong fundamentals in mechanics, thermodynamics and aerodynamics; experience with ANSYS, MSC Software or MathWorks; and

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or physics required.
• 0–5 years’ experience in a related role.
• Solid/fluids mechanics, thermodynamics, control theory and aerodynamics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Model products at all life-cycle stages from concept through to in-service.
• Perform first principles hand calculations and co-simulations of multiple integrated systems.
• Real-time, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop modelling.
• Provide test support and analysis of large data sets to confirm performance.

Our site in Wimborne - former Cobham Mission Systems, now part of the Eaton portfolio – is manufacturing air-to-air refueling systems and actuation (weapons carriage), primarily for defense markets. It is also a people enabling organization, striving on career growth and employees’ happiness.We are ITAR Regulated for this site and must be eligable for Security clearance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Traffic_in_Arms_RegulationsWhat you’ll do:Eaton Mission Systems Division are looking for a Performance Engineer to work as part of the Simulation, Modelling & Performance team based in Wimborne, Dorset. The team is responsible for the performance of the Probe & Drogue Air-to-Air Refuelling systems and the Weapons Carriage & Release systems; these systems can include hydromechanical, electromechanical and software subsystems.
