Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a software engineer for the Core Simulation team to help develop the simulation system used to evaluate and improve Wayve’s driving intelligence. You will work with C++ and Python to build scalable, reliable components that support open-loop and closed-loop workflows across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, high-quality code, and measurable impact on autonomous driving research.

Qualifications

• Proven production software development in C++ and Python.
• Experience in simulation, robotics or autonomous systems.
• Ability to deliver scoped features independently.
• Knowledge of software performance issues and trade-offs.
• Experience with GenAI development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-quality components within the simulation system using modern C++ and Python.
• Integrate driving-stack components, simulated robot systems and new vehicle-platform capabilities into the shared simulation environment.
• Support different simulation configurations and ensure components interact correctly across workflows.
• Investigate differences between on-road and simulated execution, identifying issues across data, inference and simulated components.
• Improve simulation reproducibility, reliability and debuggability through automated testing and better tooling.
• Profile and improve simulator performance to support larger evaluation workloads.
