An exciting opportunity has become available to cover maternity leave for 9 months at our Newham Hospital Simulation Centre. As part of Barts Health NHS Trust, Newham Hospital is one of 5 hospitals which make up the Trust. Barts Health boasts some of the most innovative approaches to Medical Education in the UK. Following considerable investment in facilities and equipment, the Trust has access to extensive and high-quality training equipment, and experienced faculty to deliver this education.
The Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills service is part of the Education Academy within Barts Health. It provides facilities and educational opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate doctors in training across Barts Health, supporting inter-professional education and training. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills team, including medical leads, clinical skills facilitators, and education academy Fellows.

Main duties of the job
We are recruiting for a Simulation Centre Lead Specialist to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will lead simulation and clinical skills delivery at the Newham Hospital site, be involved in team training and debriefing in clinical areas, and work with the simulation team across all centers.
The role includes designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating Clinical Education Programmes covering essential clinical skills, high fidelity simulation, haptic skills training, human factors, communication skills, and patient safety training.
The post supports the Trust's strategy to embed a culture of Patient Safety & Human Factors awareness through educational programmes and promotes active training and development initiatives across the Trust.
The role is based at the Simulation Centre within Newham Hospital but requires work across all 4 Trust sites.
