Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available to cover maternity leave for 9 months at our Newham Hospital Simulation Centre. As part of Barts Health NHS Trust, Newham Hospital is one of five hospitals within the Trust. Barts Health is renowned for its innovative approaches to Medical Education in the UK, supported by substantial investment in facilities, equipment, and experienced faculty.
The Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills service is part of the Education Academy within Barts Health. It provides facilities and educational opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate doctors in training across the Trust, supporting inter-professional education and training. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills team, including medical leads, clinical skills facilitators, and education academy Fellows.

We are recruiting for a Simulation Centre Lead Specialist to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will lead simulation and clinical skills delivery at the Newham Hospital site, participate in team training, debriefing in clinical areas, and respond to both planned and real-life clinical incidents. The post involves working with the simulation team across all four centres and collaborating with the wider team.
The role includes designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education programmes covering essential skills, high-fidelity simulation, haptic skills, human factors, communication skills, and patient safety training.
The post holder will support the Trust's strategy to embed a culture of patient safety and human factors awareness through educational programmes and promote an active approach to training and development across the Trust.
While based at Newham Hospital, the post requires working across all four Trust sites as necessary.
