Job summary

Signs Express Glasgow is seeking a skilled Sign Maker & Installer to join our busy team. The role covers production and installation of signage, including vehicle graphics, interior and exterior signs, window graphics, and large-format prints.

A hands-on approach, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential. We offer full-time or part-time permanent positions, with a clean driving licence and Monday–Friday work.

Qualifications

• Two years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
• Experience using wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators is desirable.
• Production experience in a sign fitting role including vehicle graphics is necessary.
• Positive, can-do attitude, well organised, able to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Installing internal and external signage including fascia and post-mounted signs.
• Applying vinyl to substrates including vehicles and windows.
• Interpreting briefs with understanding of signage manufacturing techniques.
• Sign making using substrates such as aluminium, ACM, acrylic, wood, vinyl and Foamex to a high standard.
• Supporting in-house production and ensuring installations are on time and within budget.
• Adhering to H&S guidelines and wearing PPE, and conducting risk assessments.

Sign Maker & Installer

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Sign Maker & Installer to join our busy team at Signs Express Glasgow. This varied role involves the production and installation of a wide range of signage solutions, including vehicle graphics, interior and exterior signs, window graphics, exhibition displays, and large-format prints. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Location: Signs Express (Glasgow), Unit 9, Carberry Court, Hillington Park, Glasgow, G52 4NQ
• Salary: Dependent on experience
• Working Hours: Full-time or part time permanent, Monday to Friday
• Travel: A full, clean driving licence is essential

Duties Include

• Installing all types of internal and external signage, including fascia and post mounted signs.
• Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates including vehicles and window graphics.
• Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
• Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including aluminium, ACM, acrylic, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
• Support all in-house production.
• Ideally have experience operating and maintaining a large format printer, plotter and laminator.
• Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
• Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
• The ability to work at height and use power tools in line with H&S guidelines.
• Taking responsibility for your own and others’ health and safety when working.
• Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.

What We Would Like From You

• A minimum of two years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.

• Production experience in a sign fitting role is necessary, including vehicle graphics application, panel application and installation.
• You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
• The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
• Clean driving licence.
• Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
• An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
