Job summary

Signs Express (Abingdon & Didcot) is a local family business recruiting an experienced sign maker/installer. You will work on a wide range of signage projects, including vehicle graphics, using substrates such as ACM, acrylics, metals, vinyl and foamex.

You’ll install internal and external signs, operate plotters, large format printers and laminators, and uphold high safety and service standards while meeting deadlines and budget expectations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions including vehicle graphics.
• Experience using plotters, large format printers and laminators.
• Clean driving licence.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Reliable, good time-keeping and strong work ethic.
• Sense of humour, professional, flexible, enthusiastic, be a good communicator, well organised and able to work alone as well as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of health & safety.
• Vehicle wrapping experience is desirable but not essential.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Sign making and installation across multiple substrates (ACM, acrylics, metals, vinyl, foamex).
• Apply vinyl to vehicles, walls, window graphics, panels and fascia.
• Install internal and external signage using power tools and access equipment.
• Ensure installations meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Interpret briefs accurately and select appropriate signage techniques.
• Operate large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Occasionally conduct site surveys and ensure signage is fitted safely.
• Maintain safety standards and contribute to a positive team environment.

• Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including ACM, acrylics, metals, vinyl and foamex, to a consistently high standard.
• Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates including vehicles, walls, window graphics, panels and fascia's.
• Installing all types of internal and external signage using power tools and various access equipment.
• Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
• Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
• Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
• Occasionally conducting site surveys.
• Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
• Taking responsibility for your own and others' health and safety when working.
• Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.
