Job summary

Samuel Frank is seeking an experienced PLC Controls & Commissioning Engineer to deliver turnkey automated warehouse and material handling systems across the UK from its Nuneaton base. You will program using Siemens TIA Portal, troubleshoot and commission on customer sites, with extended site work as required.

The role requires strong Siemens PLC skills, hands-on commissioning experience and the flexibility to work away from the office on long-running projects across the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong Siemens TIA Portal programming experience essential.
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and support for automated warehouse systems.
• Hands-on experience with PLC software development and site handover.
• Willingness to spend extended periods at customer sites across the UK.
• Background in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or machinery commissioning advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Programme, develop and modify Siemens PLC software using TIA Portal with focus on Structured Text.
• Commission and troubleshoot automated warehouse, conveyor and handling systems.
• Manage turnkey projects from software development to installation and handover.
• Diagnose faults in PLC software, electrical and control systems on-site during commissioning.
• Support project delivery at customer sites with extended commissioning phases.
