Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Officer based at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford, covering day, night and weekend shifts. You will protect people, property and assets while delivering a professional service to staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate holds a valid SIA licence, can pass BS7858 vetting, has prior security experience and strong communication skills. Right to work in the UK is required. This role is based on site within a busy university environment.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA Licence.
• Previous experience in a security role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site
• Act as a first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly and helpful service
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding appropriately to incidents
• Support a safe working environment by following Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards, damage, or defects
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management across the site
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed
