Job summary

Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is seeking experienced Class 1 Shunter Drivers to join our UK yard operations. You will safely move trailers, position vehicles on loading bays, and support inter-depot movements with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Full C+E entitlement required.
• Shunting experience in a fast-paced yard environment.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-disciplined, motivated and reliable.
• Strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt trailers between designated areas on site.
• Carry out inter-depot trailer movements as required.
• Position trailers on loading and unloading bays.
• Maintain communication with operational teams using two-way radios.
• Complete daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.
• Report defects, damage, accidents or incidents promptly.
• Ensure refrigerated trailers are set to the correct temperatures.
• Monitor fridge diesel levels and ensure sufficient fuel.
• Work professionally and collaboratively with site colleagues.
• Report breaches of site speed limits by drivers or subcontractors.
• Maintain organised parking areas and report housekeeping issues.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
• Follow all company policies and Health & Safety legislation.
