Job summary

TIP Group is seeking a skilled Shunter Driver to join our team. You’ll move trailers safely around the yard, handle the on-site MOT lane at Shepshed, run tests, and load/test weights to keep fleets compliant and road-ready.

You’ll need a UK Class 1 driving licence, an FLT or Telehandler licence, and a proactive mindset with a sense of humour as part of a supportive, hands-on team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 driving licence.
• FLT or Telehandler licence required.
• Proactive mindset and ownership in work.
• Positive attitude and good sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers safely around the yard and depot.
• Operate on-site MOT lane at Shepshed and present vehicles/test trailers.
• Carry out brake tests, headlamp checks and park brake checks.
• Load/unload trailers with test weights.
• Deliver/collect trailers to customer sites as needed.
• Collaborate with team to keep vehicles moving.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Shunting trailers safely around the yard and depot to support daily operations
• Running our on‑site MOT lane at Shepshed, including presenting vehicles and trailers for test
• Completing brake tests, headlamp checks, and on‑site park brake checks
• Loading and unloading trailers with test weights
• Collecting and delivering trailers to customer sites when required
• Working closely with a hands‑on, supportive team to keep vehicles moving
• Helping ensure our customers’ fleets remain safe, compliant, and road‑ready

What You’ll Bring

• A full UK Class 1 driving licence
• FLT or Telehandler license
• A proactive mindset and a sense of ownership in your work
