Job description

Job Title: Showroom Manager, Bathrooms + Plumbing + Heating

Location: Croyden, Surrey
Salary: £35k - £40k + per annum depending on experience + Benefits + Bonus
Sector: Construction or Builders Merchant
Role Overview

As a Showroom Manager, you will support and oversee our showroom, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimized for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. You will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve objectives.

Extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, preferably within the bathrooms + P+H sector, at local or national level, is required. Experience in managing teams across various disciplines and career levels is essential. Knowledge of the Merchant trade, including Bathrooms, Plumbing, and General Building, is necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  1. General: Working on special projects, providing out-of-hours support for alarm and CCTV, being a key holder, responding to customer complaints.
  2. People Management: Leading by example, developing staff, delegating tasks, staffing and resource planning, recruiting, payroll management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  3. Branch Performance: Stock management, maintaining delivery standards, system housekeeping, supplier relationships, trading decisions, stock optimization.
  4. Change and Improvements: Proposing and implementing operational changes, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  5. Health & Safety/Compliance: Ensuring safety regulations are followed, liaising with authorities, promoting staff ownership of safety standards, monitoring tachographs and driver hours, incident reporting, procedural compliance, and checklist completion.
