Job description

Job Title: Showroom Manager, Bathrooms + Plumbing + Heating

Salary: £35k - £40k per annum depending on experience + Benefits + Bonus

Sector: Construction or Builders Merchant

Role Overview

As a Showroom Manager, you will support and oversee our showroom, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimized for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. You will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve objectives.

Experience and Qualifications

You should have extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, preferably within the bathrooms + P+H sector, at local or national level. Experience in managing a team across various disciplines and career levels is essential. Knowledge of the Merchant trade, including Bathrooms, Plumbing, and General building, is required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. General: Support special projects, provide out-of-hours support for alarm and CCTV providers, be a key holder, respond to customer complaints, and ensure legal and company policy compliance.
  2. People Management: Lead and develop staff, manage performance, delegate tasks effectively, manage staffing levels, recruit and induct new employees, and handle disciplinary and grievance procedures with HR support.
  3. Branch Performance: Conduct stock takes, manage stock levels, ensure timely deliveries, maintain customer service standards, develop supplier relationships, and make trading decisions within defined limits.
  4. Change Management: Propose and implement operational changes, ensuring fairness and communication across the branch.
  5. Health & Safety/Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, liaise with authorities, promote staff responsibility, monitor tachographs and driver hours, report incidents, and ensure procedural compliance in banking, paperwork, and safety checks.
