Job summary

EDF Trading, part of the EDF Group, seeks a London-based Short-Term Power Market Analyst to deliver data analytics and risk assessments for wholesale power markets. You’ll work closely with front-office traders, asset managers, and Paris-based teams to optimise month-ahead to day-ahead strategies.

You will develop robust models, support price forecasts, and help improve trading tools, while maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a strong statistics or mathematics component.
• Experience building stochastic or deterministic optimisation procedures/models.
• Proficient in data analytics and risk analysis for power markets.
• Strong communication skills to interact with traders and asset managers.

Responsibilities

• Provide data analytics and risk analysis on short-term power market to the desk.
• Support price forecasts and trading strategies for Day-Ahead / Week-Ahead.
• Follow optimisation shifts and communicate time-critical information to traders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and defined processes.
• Develop and maintain models, with unit tests and peer reviews.
