Job summary

EDF Trading Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join the Quantitative Solutions team in London. You will work on derivatives pricing models, calibration, and risk analysis, collaborating with traders, structuring, and risk teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of option pricing theory, Monte Carlo methods, and energy market dynamics, with strong C++ and Python programming skills. A hybrid working model and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within an energy trading or related environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing derivatives pricing models for complex structured deals in gas and power markets.
  • Knowledge of energy markets and associated derivatives products.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python; ability to write clear, efficient code.
  • Experience calibrating/estimating model parameters and backtesting models.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with trading and structuring to gather requirements for new derivatives models.
  • Undertake research and development for new models and upgrades to existing models.
  • Backtest models to provide insights on model behaviour and suggest trading strategies.
  • Calibration/estimation of model parameters, and deployment with development teams.
  • Collaborate with Quant Development to build pricing libraries and data analysis tools.
  • Engage with Quant Risk to document proposed model enhancements.
