Job summary

AirTanker is seeking a Short Term Planner to join our Fleet Engineering team. You will own the three-month rolling maintenance plan and coordinate maintenance across CAMO, Base Maintenance, and MROs, ensuring aircraft availability and minimal downtime.

This shift-based role places you at the centre of operational readiness for a defence-critical fleet. You will plan and prioritise short-term maintenance, manage resources such as hangar space, manpower and materials, and develop contingency plans

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in aircraft maintenance planning.
• Experience with wide-body aircraft maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of UK CAA and EASA regulations.
• Experience using MRO IT systems Envision, AMOS or Trax.
• Knowledge of Airbus A330 Maintenance Planning Document.
• Strong prioritisation and ability to work under operational pressure.
• Stakeholder management and autonomous working.
• Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the three-month rolling aircraft maintenance plan.
• Plan and prioritise short-term maintenance activity, identify risks and contingency plans.
• Optimise maintenance inputs to support aircraft availability and reduce turnaround times.
• Coordinate resources such as hangar space, manpower and materials.
• Create work orders for Line Maintenance and deploy/recoveries and six-month checks.
• Coordinate with CAMO, Base Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Materials and Operations.
• Coordinate with MROs to schedule maintenance and ensure timely completion.
• Support wider fleet planning with Planning Manager and Fleet Liaison Manager.
• Assist in flight hour and cycle management.

We’re looking for a Short Term Planner to join our Fleet Engineering team and play a key role in keeping the Voyager fleet airworthy, available and ready to meet operational requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain the three-month rolling aircraft maintenance plan.


• Plan and prioritise short-term maintenance activity, identifying risks and putting contingency plans in place.


• Optimise maintenance inputs to support aircraft availability and reduce turnaround times.


• Coordinate resources, including hangar space, manpower and materials.


• Create work orders for Line Maintenance activity, including deployment preparations, recoveries and 6-month checks.


• Work closely with CAMO, Base Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Materials and Operations to coordinate maintenance activity.


• Coordinate with MROs to schedule maintenance and support timely completion.


• Work alongside the Mid/Long Term Planner and Fleet Liaison Manager to support wider fleet planning.


• Support the effective management of flight hours and flight cycles across the fleet.


• Deputise for the Planning Manager when required.

What you'll bring

• At least two years’ experience in aircraft maintenance planning, ideally within a CAMO environment.


• Experience of maintenance planning on wide-body aircraft.


• Knowledge of UK Civil and Military Aviation Authority regulations and EASA regulations.


• Experience using MRO IT systems such as Envision, AMOS or Trax.


• Knowledge of the Airbus A330 Maintenance Planning Document.


• Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work independently under operational pressure.


• A calm and professional approach when responding to changing operational requirements.


• Strong stakeholder management skills.


• Experience writing procedures and processes.


• Project management experience. A recognised qualification or course would be advantageous.
