Job summary

Swanky is seeking a Lead Full Stack Developer for New Builds in Exeter. You will own the technical delivery of greenfield Shopify Plus builds, guiding discovery to launch, setting technical approach, and writing substantial code while mentoring junior developers.

You’ll work across pre-sales discovery, solution design, and post-launch handover, coordinating with Solutions, Growth Accelerator, and client teams. Strong client-facing skills and Shopify expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial experience as a full-stack developer, with at least 2 years as lead on client projects.
• 3+ years delivering Shopify/Shopify Plus projects, including at least one build or replatform you led from discovery to launch.
• Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus features, APIs, metafields, and limitations.
• Broad knowledge of Shopify app ecosystem and judgements on when to use apps vs custom development.
• Experience building Shopify apps, Checkout/Customer UI Extensions, and Shopify Functions.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript; backend with Node.js and Postgres, REST/GraphQL, webhooks.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales conversations and discovery workshops; present technical recommendations to clients.
• Own technical delivery across projects from kick-off to handover; brief and mentor developers on the team.
• Coordinate with third parties, client IT teams, and vendors to align on integrations and data migrations.
• Plan go-lives with SEO checks, DNS/ redirects, and post-launch warranty support.
• Train client teams and hand over detailed technical documentation and setup guides.
• Lead a small development team with mentoring, code reviews, and adherence to coding standards.
