We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail orientated Shop Manager to oversee the operations in our specialist produce shop. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the store consistently delivers high-quality, fresh and unique produce to our customers. You will lead the team, manage stock, maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and promote the variety and quality that sets our shop apart. You will provide exceptional customer service through product knowledge which you will be expected to learn quickly, you will be responsible for the customer experience from the moment they arrive on site until the moment they leave.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the shop, ensuring smooth running and adhere to company policies. As a small operation you will need to serve customers.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organisation and presentation across the store.
• Ensure the layout is attractive and aligned with the company's brand standards both front of hour and back of house.

Stock Management

• Monitor inventory levels, ensuring that orders are placed with suppliers in a timely manner.
• Communicate with internal buying team to ensure goods are ordered.
• Implement stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
• Make suggestions on the range we offer ensuring quality and variety is at the heart of that process.
• Provide feedback on customer preferences and product demand to assist with inventory planning.

Quality Control

• Maintain the highest standards of quality, ensuring that all products on the shop floor are of acceptable standard.
• Daily inspections of produce for freshness, quality and appearance.
• Ensure products are stored properly to retain quality and minimise spoilage.
• The ability to be dynamic with our stock, finding innovative ways to clear stock and reduce waste.

Customer Service

• Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service, ensuring that customers are greeted and assisted promptly.
• Train and support staff to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.
• Resolve customer inquires, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Offer personalised recommendations based on customer preferences and seasonal availability of exotic fruits.

Sales and Promotions:

• Monitor sales trends and identify opportunities to drive sales growth.
• Work alongside the marketing department to assist with in-store promotions and marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic and sales.
• Supervise and motivate staff, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure sufficient coverage at all times.
• Work with other managers to ensure smooth integration into the wider business.
• Train and develop team members, focusing on product knowledge and customer service skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a food-related or specialty store environment or prestige hospitality settings.
• Strong passion for food and drink, specifically fresh produce.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong organsiational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Driven to achieve tasks in a timely manner.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Ability to manage stock, handle inventory and coordinate with suppliers.
• Flexible and willing to work additional shifts if necessary to ensure the shop is always adequately staffed.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations is a plus.
