  • Achieve profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively.
  • Maintain the store's presentation to a high standard.
  • Build an effective volunteer team, providing training, development, work reviews, and appraisals for paid staff and volunteers.
  • Handle all financial, cash handling, health and safety responsibilities.

To succeed as a Shop Manager, you will:

  • Be an experienced manager capable of maintaining budgets and accurately completing income and banking sheets, preferably with charity retail experience at a managerial level.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Be willing to travel for team meetings, training, and assisting with the setup of new stores.
  • Be passionate about Mencap's values and committed to the success of our retail brand.

We are an inclusive organisation and especially encourage applications from disabled individuals and those from Black and Asian communities, who are underrepresented in our workforce.
