As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. Responsibilities
  • The primary purpose of this position is to keep the uninterrupted flow of products from sales order to on time shipment by managing the daily operations of the shop floor personnel across Steel processing, fabrication and assembly operations.
  • Utilize manpower and equipment to the utmost efficiency to maintain optimum product flow.
  • Manage and maintain the safety, productivity, efficiency, and business operations of the Plant.
  • Manage the shipment of the product to maintain the lowest costs while meeting the customer’s specifications and delivery schedule.
  • Maintain SPX quality standards and comply with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Initiate process improvements that lower costs and increase efficiency.
  • Lead and motivate employees to produce quality products in a safe manner; be results oriented.
Activities / Tasks / Scope
  • Liaise with Operations director to agree workload and priorities
  • Active enforcement of all company policies including QEH&S
  • Supervise shop floor workforce and contractors across 2 shifts
  • Prioritize work of individuals to best achieve on time delivery of orders
  • Responsible for solving problems and initiating process improvements
  • Timely collation and presentation of Production Orders
  • Regular H&S Toolbox Talks
  • Arrange plant, machine and equipment repairs as necessary
  • Drive monthly H&S Audits
  • Monitor and drive good 5s
  • Monitoring of Kanban levels
  • Instigate disciplinary process as and when appropriate
  • Collation and approval of timesheets

Education / Experience
  • Min 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory role in a Production environment
  • Demonstrable track record in productivity improvement

Certification / Other Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of SAP business system
  • Fork truck license, Overhead crane licence an advantage
