A day in the life of a Shop Assistant will involve:

• Assisting the shop manager to run a customer-focused shop that is the 'window of the British Red Cross' on the high street.
• Creating a welcoming shopping environment and providing excellent customer service.
• Working confidently on the shop floor as the first point of contact for customers, operating the till, and creating attractive displays.
• Sorting stock and preparing items for display behind the scenes.

To be a successful Shop Assistant, you’ll need:

• Previous experience in retail and confidence handling money.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
• A commercial mindset with an understanding of hitting targets.
• An ability to anticipate and meet customers' needs and delight them with your service.
