Job summary

Sue Ryder Blackburn is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our team in Blackburn. You will support your manager and colleagues, deliver excellent customer service to customers and donors, and help drive income for our vital services in a busy charity shop environment.

You will assist with stock, merchandising, till work and health and safety, while building strong community relationships and representing the Sue Ryder brand during campaigns and fundraising activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail environments is essential.
• Ability to handle till transactions accurately and confidently.
• Basic IT skills including email, messaging and video calls are required.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work alone when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in driving sales and achieving shop targets through excellent customer service.
• Provide friendly support to customers and donors, ensuring a positive experience.
• Support in stocking, merchandising and housekeeping to keep the shop presentable.
• Assist with stock management and EPOS processes to maintain fresh stock levels.
• Champion the Sue Ryder brand and contribute to in-store campaigns and fundraising initiatives.

• As Shop Assistant you will be using your skills and retail experience to help drive sales, income and performance against targets.
