Job summary

Marella Cruises invites applications for an Assistant HVAC Engineer to join the Marella Explorer on board a cruise vessel. The contract is for 3 months ± 1 month with embarkation ASAP.

You will support the HVAC Engineer in daily tasks and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning systems to international standards. Candidates must have relevant cruise vessel experience and all valid certificates, with strong English proficiency and the ability to work in a safety-conscious

Qualifications

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• Valid Certificate to work with refrigerant gases.
• Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training courses are appreciated.
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC Engineer in day-to-day tasks.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, cooling and air conditioning systems to standard and regulations.
• Maintain engine room and galley ventilation, beverage machines, mini-bars and ice making equipment as directed.
• Inspect galley, laundry, and launderette exhaust ducts and ensure cleaning routines are executed.
• Keep temperature logs for freezers and cold rooms as required by USPH.
• Participate in emergency response, safety drills and training as directed.
• Minimise disruption to passengers when performing maintenance in passenger areas.
