Job summary

Saga Cruises in the United Kingdom invites an experienced Assistant Electrician to join the cruise vessel Spirit of Discovery. You will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all electrical equipment aboard, and you will coordinate with other technical departments.

This contract covers 5 months +/- 1 month, with embarkation 06 November 2026, and requires STCW and CoC certifications.

Qualifications

• Proven and relevant experience as an Assistant Electrician onboard cruise vessels.
• All required STCW and statutory certificates valid and in date.
• Excellent command of English.
• Positive and verifiable references/recommendations.
• Ability to work effectively within an international crew.
• Solid understanding of electrical equipment onboard.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair shipboard electrical systems to high safety standards.
• Coordinate with other technical departments and ship personnel.
• Keep logs and documentation up to date.
• Assist with electrical motor overhauls and servicing.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and health/safety regulations.
