Job summary

V.Group is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join the Orient Express Olympian on a 6-month contract aboard the cruise vessel. The role requires prior shipboard carpenter experience, STCW95 certification, and strong references.

Embarkation details and rotation are to be advised; candidates should be prepared for long hours, overtime, and working in confined spaces. Responsibilities include installation, repair and maintenance of fixtures, fittings and equipment, support to the Deck department,

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
• Good understanding of carpentry, woodwork, maintenance and repair.
• Extensive experience in subordinate positions and on board passenger ships in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Executes general maintenance, repair, installation and upkeep of material equipment.
• Responsible to be familiar with the operation and location of all lifesaving, fire-fighting and pollution prevention equipment.
• Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors or other fixtures and fittings.
• Maintenance and repair of furniture in guest and crew areas (accommodations, public areas, bars, theater, lounges, restaurants).
• Maintains a clean and orderly working area.
