The Role
As a Ship Control Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for delivering the Astute class ship control training in our specialised facility.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide training to students with a wide range of experience.

  • Liaise with the training design team to provide SME support
  • Work with the training design team to implement any required change
  • Support the review and evaluation of technical data / notifications of change
  • Conduct all administration and reporting activities associated with training delivery
  • Ensure training is delivered to prescribed standards, quality and costs.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at HMNB Clyde.

Experience required of the Ship Control Instructor

  • Comprehensive knowledge of operating ship control systems
  • Experience of submarine control room management
  • Relevant experience in the Royal Navy submarine service
  • Previous experience of training delivery desirable but not essential
  • Recent experience on the astute class submarines desirable but not essential

Qualifications for the Ship Control Instructor

  • Warrant officer or other senior rating within the Royal Navy
