Job summary

TechMet Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join a fast-paced, clean factory environment in Ballybofey. The role covers both preventative and reactive maintenance to keep production lines operating at peak performance.

You will work a 3-shift rotation including days, evenings, and nights, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement across conveyors, motors, pumps and hydraulics.

Qualifications

• Experienced Maintenance Fitter with a factory/manufacturing background.
• Multiskilled with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
• Experience with electrics is desirable but not essential.
• Proven experience working on conveyors, motors, and hydraulic systems would be useful.
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and carry out reactive repairs on mechanical equipment.
• Work on machinery including conveyors, pumps, motors and hydraulics.
• Identify and resolve mechanical faults to ensure continuous production.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure safety compliance.

Maintenance Fitter - 3-Shift Rotation - Ballybofey, Co. Donegal

Are you a skilled Maintenance Fitter looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced AND VERY CLEAN factory environment?

We are delighted to be working with a leading food and beverage manufacturer who are looking for a Maintenance Fitter, to join their dedicated engineering team in Ballybofey. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of production lines.

The Role:

• Working a 3-shift rotation (days, evenings, and nights), you will be a crucial part of maintaining Production efficiency.
• You will carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance to keep all machinery and equipment operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and carry out reactive repairs on mechanical equipment
• Work on a variety of machinery, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and hydraulics
• Identify and resolve mechanical faults to ensure continuous production
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to improve processes
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced Maintenance Fitter, or spark or ideally with a background in a manufacturing or factory environment suited but can consider good hands on dependable
• Multi-skilled with strong mechanical or elctrical aptitude
• Experience with electrics is desirable but not essential
• Proven experience working on conveyors, motors, and hydraulic systems would be useful
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
• Flexibility to work on a 3-shift rotation (or could take perm evening or nights person if that suited better)
